Carmel of the Holy Trinity

4027 S Wilbur Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206-9407

Nestled among the evergreens of eastern Washington, the Carmel of the Holy Trinity is a hidden place of prayer, silence, and sacrifice. Founded in 1985 by the Carmel of the Sacred Heart in Quievrain, Belgium, this cloistered monastery carries forward the spirit of the Carmelite Reform begun by St. Teresa of Avila.

Our truly monastic Carmel is situated in a beautiful spacious park of splendid evergreens, to which the “painted hills” provide a fascinating horizon. In this picturesque setting, our Carmel awaits the generous vocations which Our Lord has chosen for it from all eternity.

The life of Carmel is the life of Mary at Nazareth and in the Cenacle, a life of silence, retreat and prayer, offered to God for the welfare of the Church and the salvation of souls.

The spirit of Carmel is pre-eminently the double spirit of Elias, the spirit of prayer and contemplation.
