August Carmelite News Update

May 31st was a beautiful day for us, with the profession of Sr. Veronika of the Holy Face. Because of the
construction work, we have no Chapter room, so Sister had the privilege of pronouncing her vows in the Choir, (in
the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament!) with the Chapel locked for the public. Unusual situations
bring unusual blessings! Deo gratias!

We had the visit of newly ordained Fr. Cyprian Kramer, SSPX, who gave us a conference and slide show
of the deacons’ pilgrimage to the Holy Land in January 2025. The next day, Feast of the Sacred Heart, we had his
First Mass and blessing,

The building project is nearing completion; the painting is done and the floors are about to be put down;
the brick is advancing slowly but surely; the grounds are being restored to normal around the site… We are very
excited to inspect the progress regularly. Even with no doors installed, we notice a great coolness in the basement,
despite temperatures in the 90°s! Deo Gratias! The final inspection is due for the end of August. Oremus!

Meanwhile, we continue our daily life, and strive to keep up with the garden and all the works proper to
a monastery. Summer days are long, but full: chanting the Divine Office, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament,
prayers for our many benefactors, and manual labor.

In July we had a very fruitful retreat preached by Fr. Patrick Rutledge, SSPX. It was a time of renewal
and grace for our community, and we are grateful for the many graces received.

As we approach the completion of the new building, we must prepare to move into it, and organize the
space for our growing community. We are beginning to contact the artisans in order to finalize their
contracts and submit their bills. We thank you all for your continued generosity towards this project!

Yours most gratefully in the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
The Carmelites

P.S. As this goes to the press, we would like to announce that we will have an open day of the new building on
September 8th, God willing, and His Excellency Bishop Fellay will bless this new part of our monastery. The
faithful and the families of the artisans and contractors will be welcome to visit on that day. Details will be
announced in the Immaculate Conception Church bulletin, (Post Falls, Idaho).
